In 2022, a group of passionate IT students in Nepalgunj noticed a striking gap — while Kathmandu was buzzing with tech events, bootcamps, and hackathons, the entire far-western region of Nepal had virtually no organized platform for IT students to connect, learn, or grow together.
Students in Nepalgunj, Surkhet, Dang, and surrounding cities were just as talented and motivated — but lacked access to mentorship, collaborative projects, and industry exposure. Many traveled to Kathmandu just to attend a single workshop, while others gave up on tech careers entirely due to isolation.
NISC was established to change that. Our purpose is simple but powerful: bring world-class IT learning culture to Nepalgunj and the entire far-western Nepal region — so that geography is never a barrier to a great tech career.
Today, NISC serves students across Nepalgunj, Surkhet, Dang (Tulsipur), Bardiya, Banke, Kailali (Dhangadhi), and Kanchanpur — with plans to expand to every district that wants to be part of this tech movement.
