NISC (Nepalgunj IT Student Community) is a free, volunteer-run, non-commercial student tech community based in Nepalgunj, Banke, Nepal. We operate across far-western Nepal, including Surkhet, Dhangadhi, Dang, Bardiya, and surrounding districts.
We are not a registered company or corporation. NISC is a community initiative founded in 2022 to support IT students and tech enthusiasts in far-western Nepal through free workshops, mentorship, events, and networking.

We collect information only when you voluntarily provide it — for example, when you join NISC or register for an event. We do not collect data silently or without your knowledge.

We use your information strictly for community operations. Here is exactly how:

- To add you to WhatsApp groups — only if you consented during signup
- To match you with mentors — using your skill level and interests to connect you with relevant mentors
- To improve our programs — understanding what skills our members want helps us plan better workshops
- To respond to your queries — when you contact us directly
We take data sharing seriously. Your data may be accessed by:
- NISC core team members — volunteer organizers who manage events and community operations, strictly on a need-to-know basis
- Google (data storage) — your form submissions are stored in Google Sheets, which is governed by Google's Privacy Policy
- Event speakers/mentors — only your name and contact details, and only if you registered for their specific session, with your prior consent
We do not share your data with:
- Advertisers or marketing companies
- Recruiters or employers (without your explicit request)
- Any third party for commercial purposes
- Government agencies (unless legally required)
Your submitted data is stored in Google Sheets secured to the NISC Gmail account (niscnpj@gmail.com). Access is restricted to NISC core team members only.
We take the following precautions to protect your data:
- Google account is secured with two-factor authentication (2FA)
- Spreadsheet access is restricted — not publicly accessible
- Only authorized NISC team members can view member data
- We regularly review who has access and remove inactive team members
While we take reasonable steps to protect your data, no internet transmission is 100% secure. If you believe your data has been compromised, please contact us immediately at niscnpj@gmail.com.
You have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Right to Access — You can request a copy of all data we hold about you

Our website is a static HTML site and currently does not use cookies for tracking, analytics, or advertising.

NISC welcomes students of all ages, including those under 16 (our "Under 16" age group). For members under 16, we strongly recommend parental awareness of their participation in our community.
We do not knowingly collect sensitive data from children beyond what is needed for community participation (name, email, phone for event coordination). If a parent or guardian believes their child's data has been collected inappropriately, please contact us at niscnpj@gmail.com and we will promptly delete it.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do:
- The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page will change
- Significant changes will be announced via our WhatsApp community group and email newsletter
- Continued use of NISC services after changes implies acceptance of the updated policy
